If you are flying into Merida International Airport (MID), you can have your rental car ready the same day without lining up at a counter. We meet you at the airport, drive you to our downtown office for free and hand over the car there. The office is about 15 minutes from the airport, on Calle 60 #484 facing Parque Santa Lucía.
How the Merida airport pickup works
- Book online and choose Merida Airport as your pickup place. Add your flight number and arrival time.
- Collect your luggage and go to the meeting point. Look for our representative holding an EasyWay sign.
- Ride the free shuttle to our office. There is no charge for the transfer.
- Sign and drive. We review the car with you, you sign the contract and you leave with the keys.
We do not have a counter inside the terminal. That is what lets us avoid airport concession fees and keep the price you saw online as the price you pay.
What to bring
- A valid driver's license.
- Your passport or official ID.
- A credit card in the driver's name for the security deposit. The amount depends on the category and the insurance you select.
- Your reservation confirmation.
Arriving late or leaving early
The office is open every day from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. If your flight lands close to or after closing time, or you need a very early return, write to us before you travel at merida@easywayrentacar.com or call +52 999 930 9500 so we can confirm what we can arrange.
Returning the car
Choose Merida Airport as the return place too and we will arrange the drop-off for the end of your trip. You can also return the car at the downtown office or at a hotel. If you return it in another city, such as Cancun, a fixed one-way fee applies and is shown before you book.
First kilometers from the airport
- To the historic center: about 15 minutes by the airport avenue and the Periférico.
- To Progreso beach: around 40 minutes on the highway north of the city.
- To Uxmal: about 1 hour 15 minutes south on the road to Muna and Santa Elena.
- To Chichén Itzá and Cancun: take the 180D toll road east. Carry pesos for the tolls.

Do you have a rental desk inside Merida airport?
No. We meet you at the meeting point and take you to our office with a free shuttle. This avoids airport desk fees.
How long does the pickup take?
The shuttle ride is short, since the office is about 15 minutes from the airport. The paperwork and car review depend on how many drivers there are; adding your details online beforehand helps.
Can I add a second driver?
Yes. Additional drivers can be added to the reservation and need to show their license at pickup.
Is insurance included?
Every rental includes third-party liability insurance. You can add broader coverage when you book, and the deposit changes with the coverage you choose.
Can I cancel for free?
Yes, up to 48 hours before the pickup time.
